Bin collection time update from EHDC

EARLY BIN COLLECTIONS FROM JUNE 21st 2023

With the current sweltering heat during the day, EHDC have been working hard to avoid heat exhaustion in our crews, with lots of additional water and breaks during the day.

Working on a bin crew is a tiring job at the best of times, but in temperatures over 20ºC for most of the day, it can become unsafe.

That’s why EHDC have decided to start collecting bins earlier in the morning, so the crews have a better chance of being finished before the hottest part of the day.

Crews may be leaving the depot at around 5am, so please ensure that your bin is out the night before your collection day.

Early collections will begin TOMORROW (Wednesday 21 June).
